Pakistan International Container Terminal started operations at Karachi Port in 2002 under a build, operate and transfer contract with Karachi Port Trust. The contract covered the exclusive construction, development, operation and management of a common user terminal at Karachi Port for a period of 21 years from 2002 to 2023.
PICT is a subsidiary of International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI), a global port operator with 32 terminals in 19 countries and a company incorporated in Philippines.
